I took this class with the Bay Area Sampler Guild back in 2007 and just finished it this weekend…yay!
It took me just over 6 hours to “finish” by hand, which included lining the inside, making the twisted cord & tassel and then assembling it all together. I didn’t think it would have taken *that* long, but I am please with the end result.
Also, I was happy because for this project, I finally figured out how to make a nice looking tassel..you know, the kind where the hanging thread comes up from the middle and it’s not just tied around the threads. I used a paper bead in the top/head of the tassel and ran the thread for the body of the tassel up through the middle, out the top and spread it out evenly over the edges before wrapping it tight . Then I ran thread right up through the middle and attached it to the bottom of the scissor case.
I don’t remember seeing this project before! Very pretty! And it’s a gorgeous tassel! Honestly, Liz, your work is so impressive!
Liz – this is gorgeous! You are so talented ! You are a true professional.
